The Visit
The Visit is a powerful and unsettling classic by Friedrich Dürrenmatt that explores morality, justice and how far a town will go for riches. When the fabulously wealthy Claire Zachanassian sweeps back into her poor hometown, the locals welcome her with open arms—until she makes them an outrageous offer. She is prepared to help the people in the town of her youth by giving them millions, but her offer comes at a price. Are they willing to pay what she calls justice? What follows is a wickedly clever mix of comedy, suspense, and social satire, as the town’s morals slowly bend under the weight of temptation. Directed by Greg Elliott.
